ANU College of Arts and Social Sciences Travel Grants

“Each year, the College of Arts & Social Sciences may award up to seven awards to be known as the College of Arts & Social Sciences Travel Grant. The objectives of the award is to facilitate student exchanges and study abroad experiences for members of the College community.  Each year, two students will be funded to travel to both Kings College, London and Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, one student will be funded to travel to Indiana University, USA, and the remaining award will be offered to students planning to go on exchange under the general Global Programs schemes and strengthen College ties with these Universities.”

Ethel Tory Language Scholarship – Asian Languages

"Each year the ANU College of Asia and the Pacific may offer up to 20 awards known as the "Ethel Tory Language Scholarship". The objective of the award is to provide funds to cover documented travel costs for eligible students undertaking full-time language study outside Australia."

Jamie Mackie Southeast Asia travel grant

"The aim of the Jamie Mackie Southeast Asia Travel Grant is to promote Australia's engagement with Southeast Asia and/or Southeast Asia's engagement with Australia. This grant assists current students of the ANU College of Asia and Pacific to undertake research or study for which they will benefit from travel to Southeast Asia."

Taplin Indigenous Bursary for International Education

The Taplin Indigenous Bursary for International Education has been established by Emeritus Professor John Taplin to support the expenses of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students or staff involving engagement with other First-Nations peoples overseas.

Walter Mangold Language Scholarships

"The Walter Mangold Language Scholarships are travel awards for advanced tertiary language students currently attending a university in Victoria who apply for an exchange or study abroad placement to continue their language studies overseas for at least one semester."

The Wayne and Marion Patten Mobility Scholarship

"Established by a gift from Wayne and Marion Patten, this scholarship is offered to students who are Australian citizens and intend to undertake overseas study. Preference is given to graduate students undertaking studies in a Business or Commerce related discipline in particular those who completed an undergraduate degree in Engineering, IT or Science."


"OS‑HELP is a loan available to eligible students enrolled in a Commonwealth supported place who want to undertake some of their study overseas. OS‑HELP can be used for a range of expenses such as airfares, accommodation, and other travel or study expenses. Students may receive one loan per six-month study period and can access a total of two OS‑HELP loans over their lifetime."

Melbourne Languages Scholarship

"Each year a limited number of scholarships are offered to high achieving undergraduate language students for study overseas. These scholarships are designed to assist with the costs of undertaking intensive programs of reasonable length, or semester or year-long exchanges."
