The Global Society is made up of a team of overseas study and exchange professionals.



Rob Malicki

Rob Malicki is passionate about overseas study and the way that it transforms young people. His mission, since his own student exchange in 2000, has been to help more young Australians make the most out of their own overseas study experiences. With over 15 years of experience, he is one of Australia's leading experts and commentators in the 'outbound mobility' of Australian uni students.


Marine Hautemont

Marine has worked in the international education industry for over a decade and has provided over 4000 Australians the chance to study overseas on short programs, through the establishment of AIM Overseas - a third party provider of short customised programs.

Today Marine is also a Director of The Global Society and provides strategic direction to the team.


Ben Detar

Ben Detar joined The Global Society in January 2018. Before joining The Global Society team, Ben worked as an Advisor for a third-party provider of short overseas programs. In this role he assisted in the preparation of students to undertake overseas study.

Originally from the USA, Ben moved to Australia after completing university in 2016. He spent his first few months in Australia exploring the coast and meeting new people! In the USA, Ben studied a Bachelor of History and Religious Studies at Hartwick College in New York. He loves learning something new every day and is excited engage with both students and partner universities around Australian outbound mobility.


Rebecca Dodd

Rebecca (Bec) Dodd joined The Global Society in May 2018. Previously, Bec worked at Macquarie University and before that, as the Program Manager for a third-party provider of short-term overseas programs. Bec uses her experience in the Australian Mobility industry and her knowledge of various technology platforms to coordinate and further develop The Global Society’s [Automated] product suite.


Angelo Ablao

Angelo (Gelo) Ablao joined The Global Society in August 2017. Prior to joining The Global Society, Gelo worked in an e-commerce company as a Digital Marketing lead where he learned social media marketing, enhanced his graphic design skills and contributed to digital marketing efforts. This is his first role in the student mobility industry and is enjoying applying his skills in new ways.

Gelo utilises his background in digital marketing and marketing automation in his role as lead builder of The Global Society’s [Automated] product. [Automated] is a workflow management tool designed to help Australian Universities to make their mobility processes more efficient (and awesome)!
