The Global Society aims to connect students from different areas of Australia who will be going overseas to study: with each other, with students who are currently overseas and with those who have returned. Students going overseas can connect with each other in country/region specific FACEBOOK groups. Students who opt- in to meet others will also be directly connected based on overseas destination.
The Global Society Community forum is a place to ask questions and find information on overseas study, from other students. The forum gives members up to date, specific and monitored information to help with planning and preparing to study and live overseas. Getting information from other students allows for specific answers: find out the best data pack in Denmark, or tips for housing in Halifax... Visit The Global Society Community forum here.
Each member of The Global Society has the opportunity to receive a TravelSIM, international sim card. The Global Society and TravelSIM offer this to members to make sure they are able to keep connected whilst overseas, no matter where they travel to and what access to wifi they have. Visit TravelSIM for more information, credit and data costs and usage.
Each member of The Global Society has the opportunity to receive an International Student Identity Card (ISIC). The ISIC gives students worldwide discounts and is another form of ID whilst abroad. Students enjoy discounts back home before they leave allowing them to save, and discounts whilst overseas allowing them to spend their money on doing more. Visit ISIC for details and discounts.
